The sawmill produced flooring boards, doors, sashes, blinds and all kinds of house carpentry materials. The lumber mill was initially located on Front Street and later relocated to the shores of the Susquehanna River near Columbia. After 1862, the Pusey brothers sold their share in the company and departed Columbia. Not long afterwards Bachman developed a partnership with George DeHuff and thus renamed the company the Bachman & DeHuff Planning Mill. The mill remained in operation until the later part of the 19th century.
