HISTORY : Frank Gullo, a vocalist and former music professor from Pennsylvania State University, was born on August 28, 1910 in Forestville, New York. In 1928 he graduated from Lockport High School, New York, excelling at band and chorus. He attended Fredonia Normal School and obtained a certificate in music education in 1930. He later attended New York University where he received both a bachelors and masters degree in music. Mr. Gullo taught in several public schools in New York State before accepting a job at Pennsylvania State College in 1940 as an assitant professor of music and director of the Penn State Glee Club. He remained at Penn State until his retirement in 1970. In 1996, he donated over 10,000 sheet music publications from the 1850's to the 1980's to the Helen A. Ganser Library at Millersville University.
CONTENTS: Contains close to 10,000 sheet music titles of popular music from 1856 to 1986. The bulk of the collection are Broadway musicals dating from the 1890's to 1940's. Includes music from popular artists, plays and movies. Click here for an online inventory of the collection.
