| HISTORY : | Diller's Hotel was located in Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania during the later half of the 19th century. The hotel is believed to have been established by Samuel P. Diller sometime prior to 1852 on the site of another hotel. Cyrus Diller purchased the hotel and constructed a new building in 1870. He operated the Diller House until 1883 when he sold it to Alfred F. Barker who refitted and refurbished the building and renamed it the Barker House. In 1904, the building was again remodeled and renamed the Hotel Hanover. |
| CONTENTS: | Contains the daily business records of Diller's Hotel from January 1852 to July 1854. Day book lists the names of boarders who resided at the hotel and the cost of their stay. Includes the accounting records and services rendered by members of the Diller family from 1864 to 1886. |
