| HISTORY: | The Community of Historians of Lancaster County (Pennsylvania) was established on February 19, 1962 to "promote interest in Lancaster City and County, particularly that of communities... and to afford an opportunity for those with an interest in the various phases of area history to know one another better". The organization supported presentations from local historians, offered scholarships to high school students in the county and sponsored field trips to regional historic sites. A declining membership led to the termination of the organization on November 7, 1981. |
