| HISTORY : | William B. Bishop and Alfred S. Edwards established the Edwards & Bishop Book and Stationary Store in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on April 1, 1875. The store was located at 36 East King Street but ran into financial hardships not long after opening. By 1877 the partnership dissolved and the business was sold. Following the termination of their business, Bishop returned to manage his family farm in Strasburg while Edwards began working as a clerk in Lancaster. |
